2024 BEE UK Conference

11/07/202412/07/2024

1st Annual Conference of the Network of the Behavioural and Experimental Economists based in the UK (BEE-UK)

About the Conference

The Behavioural and Economic Sciences (BeES) cluster at the University of Leicester School of Business is pleased to announce the 1st Annual Conference of the Network of the Behavioural and Experimental Economists based in the UK (BEE-UK), to be held on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July 2024.

The conference aims at bringing together scholars and researchers based in the UK interested in advancing our understanding of behavioural and experimental economics and its applications.

We are excited to welcome Lata Gangadharan (Professor of Economics and Joe Isaac Chair of Business and Economics at Monash University; President-Elect of the Economic Science Association) as our Keynote Speaker.

The conference will also feature a roundtable on ‘The Origins of Experimental Economics in the UK’. John Hey (University of York), Graham Loomes (Warwick Business School), Chris Starmer (University of Nottingham) and Robert Sugden (University of East Anglia) have already agreed to contribute to the roundtable.

We will also have contributed sessions with 30-minute presentations of behavioural and experimental research by members of our network. There will also be poster sessions to maximise participation and research exchanges. Everyone is welcome to register and participate in the conference even if not presenting a paper. Indeed, we see this annual conference as the primary gathering of our UK community.

The conference will be preceded by a Summer School on ‘Implementing Experimental Designs: Best Practices for Software Programming’ of two-and-a-half days (9th - 11th July 2024) led by Ted Turocy (University of East Anglia) and Boon Han Koh (University of Exeter). More information about the summer school and its separate registration and participation fees can be found on the Summer School webpage.
